President

Stacey Costabile

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Stacey graduated from Illinois State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Graphic Design. Moving from one Bloomington to another, she is currently pursuing a master's in library science at Indiana University, as well as obtaining her school media certification. While at SLIS, she plans to focus on library technology, digital libraries and young adult and teen services. When not residing in a Bloomington, she lives in the south suburbs of Chicago, where she can be found doing any and everything geeky. Besides reading, her hobbies include theatre (costuming and acting), typography, everything J.R.R. Tolkien and Harry Potter, attending conventions of any kind and drinking far too much coffee.

Vice President

Virginia Vought

Virginia Vought is pursuing an MLS, focusing in public librarianship and public library administration. She currently works as a reference assistant in the undergraduate library Information Commons and as the graduate assistant to Carrie Donovan in library instruction. A true Hoosier, Virginia earned her B.A. in English and music minor at Indiana University, graduating in 2005. After graduation, she worked as a writer in Los Angeles before moving back to Indiana to dive into librarianship. She's very happy to be back in beautiful Bloomington, this time with her new husband, Cory, and their ill-behaved cat, Stuart.

Treasurer

Janet Anderson

Janet began her second semester at SLIS this year after moving to Indiana in August with her husband, 1 1/2 year old daughter, and dog and cat to obtain her MLS. She received her bachelor's in English Education from Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota (yes, it IS cold there) a LONG time ago. After teaching high school English, Speech and Theater for two years she began to pursue other careers including management and administration. She and her husband moved to Illinois in 2001 while he worked on his master's degree in theater and they are now very happy to be here in Bloomington, IN. Janet is primarily interested in public librarianship and is excited to be the Treasurer of the ALA-SC. She also works as an Instruction Assistant in the Information Commons and volunteers at the Monroe County Public Library. In her spare time (what's that?) she likes to spend time being a bum and doing nothing with her family.
