Celebrate upcoming SLIS graduates!
Saturday, April 18th 2009
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Please join us for an evening of celebration as we gather to honor those soon graduating from the SLIS program! Enjoy sampling a variety of wines, cheeses, and other hors d'oeuvres. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. The evening will also include a raffle.
The attire for this evening is semi-formal, so please dress appropriately. In addition, please feel free to bring your spouses or significant others with you. As alcohol will be served, we kindly ask that you do not bring your children to the event.

Next week the ALA student chapter will be selling our custom-made tote bags here in SLIS. These bags, which are both fashionable AND durable, sell for just $10 each and are a must-have for any SLIS student!
Your friendly ALA-SC board members will be selling bags on the following dates, from 11 am to 3 pm in the following locations:
Monday 10/27 -- Room 036
Tuesday 10/28 -- Room 036
Wednesday 10/29 -- Room 030
You'll also be able to purchase ALA-SC flair ($1 each OR 4 for $3) to adorn your bag with - you'll definitely be on your way to the Style pages!

It was great to see all the new faces at SLIS Fall Orientation today! We're excited to meet you, to help you get acquainted with the school, Bloomington, and the ALA-SC, and to make use of your energy and ideas to make this the best year yet for the ALA Student Chapter at IU! Take a look at our website to get a feel for what we're all about - make sure to check out our Facebook page (link on the right) and our newsletter, the SLISsard Line, written by ALA-SC members. Membership information is available here. And don't miss our Fall Meet & Greet! We'll be meeting and greeting at Yogi's Bar and Grill at 5pm on Friday, September 5th. It'll be a great chance to grab a drink, chill out, make some friends, and celebrate the end of your very first week! Returning members - don't you miss the Meet & Greet, either!
