Indiana University, American Library Association Student Chapter Executive Board meeting, July 31, 2008 6:00pm, McAllister’s Attendance: President: Stacey Costabile Vice President: Viginia Vought Social Chair: Sarah Morrison Secretary: Rebekah Kati Treasurer: Janet Anderson Webmasters: Eyad Makki (Not Present) Advisors: Mary Popp Lokman Meho (not present)
Wine and Cheese: - Mary will join the University Club
- There is a price change at the University Club for the room
- The total budget for the event last year was $859
- We are not expecting as many people this year
- We should budget for half as much wine, because there were a lot of leftovers
- Ideas to liven up the event
- Games
- Play a CD of songs instead of having someone play the piano
- SLIS “Homecoming”
- Alternate locations
- Bloomington Playwrights Project
- Free parking at Waffle House
- We would need to provide linens
- Has a sound system
- IMU – Mary will check into the price of a different room

Fundraising - Total budget - $605.55
- Tote bags
- Order about 100
- Local vendors are too expensive
- 4allpromos is more economical
- Design
- Tag cloud design with a quote
- Stacey will send out an email to get input from the membership
- 2 week minmum turnaround, 4 week maximum
- $425 for a 16x14 bag
- Black with red and white letters
Orientation - Bring tote bags and buttons
- Solicit FAQs from current students to make a handout for new students
- Virginia will talk to Rhonda about speaking
